September 2023

There's nothing more energizing than a school building full of students!  A new year brings new faces to a school.  In addition to our new staff members, we've welcomed a number of new students to Cory-Rawson for the 2023-2024 school year as enrollment is growing.

Thank you to our parents and guardians for your partnership in the education of our children. Parent-teacher conference evenings will be here soon - high school will hold their conferences October 10 and 11 and elementary school November 7 and 15.  In addition to these scheduled times, if you have a question at any time, please don't hesitate to reach out to our staff.

You may remember that community members, parents, local employers and colleges gathered in spring 2022 to identify the traits we hope to build in our graduates to ensure their future success.  This summer, our district leadership team determined that everyone at Cory-Rawson should exhibit these traits:  Communication, relationship-building, critical thinking, and resilience.  Learn more here.

We are excited for a wonderful 2023-2024 school year full of growth.

In our hearts, the Green and Gold,

Jay Clark, Superintendent

Free & Reduced Lunch Update

Due to changes in government funding, there will no longer be reduced price meals - all meals will either be free or full pay.
With this change, students who previously qualified as reduced may still fall in the "reduced" income bracket, but will receive meals at no cost.  However, these students will not receive waived fees.  Moving forward, we will have students who qualify as "free with waived fees", "free without waived fees", or "full pay".
Online free lunch applications can be found here.  We also have paper applications in the school offices.  Menus are available online here.

School Pictures

Lange will take school pictures of all students Tuesday, September 26.  To order, please choose the appropriate order link (based on school building):

Registration Open for YMCA Early Learning Center at Cory-Rawson

This fall, the Findlay YMCA will open a child care center that will serve infants, toddlers, pre-school-aged children and provide before- and after-school care for school-aged children on our school campus. The YMCA is now accepting registrations - details can be found online or can be picked-up at the YMCA Child Development Center at 231 E. Lincoln Street in Findlay. A grant secured by the Cory-Rawson Education Association helped make this a reality for our community.

Nominations sought for Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame

The Cory-Rawson Local School district is proud of our alumni who are changing the region, state, nation, and world through their great achievements. To honor these alumni, we will induct members into our Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. Nominations are being accepted through November 30.

Nominees must have graduated from Cory-Rawson High School, Rawson High School, or Mount Cory High School a minimum of 20 years prior to being nominated. The nominee must have a special achievement in their area of specialty and/or received honors, awards, or other recognition at a regional, national, or international level occurring after graduation from CRHS. Nominations can be made by anyone (family, community members, committee members, current or retired faculty and staff). Following an initial nomination, the committee will retain the nomination for five years. After five years, a nominee can be re-nominated. The nomination form will be available in our school offices and online.

Donations are sought to support the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame display in the old HS cafeteria/commons. Contributions of $500 or more will be recognized on the display. Contact the district office for details (419-963-3415).
